I shoot in a documentary style - but what about groups and couple photos?

As a documentary and candid photographer, meaning I shoot what I see, exactly as it happens without my interference, I try where possible not to stage or set up any shots, however, you may wish to have some group and couple photos taken, which are a little more directed. I shoot a maximum of 10 group photos which takes around 20-30 minutes, usually after the ceremony/confetti before checking with you if you’d like some couple shots.

I don’t like to keep you from your guests for a long time and suggest just 10 or 20 minutes max for this. I much prefer to get you back to your wedding and capture all those documentary and candid moments - all those hugs, smiles and human connections. The reason you invited your guests - to create memories with the ones you love the most! I don’t like to take you far away and prefer to stay close to your guests - the more travelling time for your shots, the less time for mingling and clinking glasses with them.

THE PROCESS

  • 1. LET'S CHAT!

    First thing we’ll do is have a chat over a Zoom call to check we’re a great match! We will get to know each other better, have a laugh and talk all things wedding. You can ask anything - I’m happy to help you with finding other suppliers such as celebrants, florists, hair and make up, bands etc. I have worked with some amazing people and love to recommend them!
    After this chat, if you would like to secure your date with me - fantastic! I will send over a contract and an invoice for your booking fee, £400. Once both have been recieved - your date is secure with me and we can start getting really excited!!

  • 2. WEDDING DAY

    Its your wedding day! Wooo!
    My gear will already have been charged and packed a few days beforehand, ready. I get just as excited as you do and will be desperate to get to the venue.


    The following is based on a full day package and I will arrive with you around 2 hours before the ceremony start time.

    The average timeline of photos:

    Speeches (before meal begins)

    First dance until 4th song

    If you would like pre-wedding coverage of partner 2, you will need to add on the second photographer option to your package as I only cover 1 person pre-wedding.

  • 3. POST-WEDDING

    After your wedding, as soon as I get home I will be backing up all your photos to keep them safe!
    Within 48 hours I will send through a selection of previews. These are sent to you via a private gallery and if we’re pals on IG, a wee message. If permitted, I will post a few on Instagram and tag all your other amazing suppliers so everyone can see how incredible your day was!

    Your full gallery will be ready in around 4-6 weeks, however during busy/crazy season from April to August, this may take up to 10 weeks. Again these will be delivered to you via your own private viewing gallery.

    Once the gallery is delivered I will hand-pick a selection of images that I feel best represent your day and get them lab printed and sent to you in a lovely little velvet presentation box.

Where are you based and do you travel?

I live just outside Edinburgh in South Queensferry and yes I love travelling!
I cover the whole of Scotland and beyond.

If your venue is further afield, I’ll need overnight accommodation and charge this accordingly. Normally just a Premier Inn or closest hotel/B&B. Driving long distances home after working all day is not that safe!

Are you insured?

Yes! I hold both public liability and personal indemnity insurances. All my second photographers are also insured.

What about an engagement shoot?

I offer a couples session for £400, ideal for engagement photos!
These are shot on Sundays in and around Edinburgh and the Lothians.
If you would like your shoot location further afield, just ask for a bespoke price.
Shoots are only on-location and lasts up to 2 hours.
Online gallery and digital downloads

Do you need food?

Ohh yes please! For full day coverage, a hot meal/refreshments are greatly appreciated and gives me the opportunity to sit down, relax and recharge for an hour before the evening events begin. This saves me having to go off-site for an hour. I have no meal requirements however if you book a second shooter, a vegan meal may be required.

To allow me time to rest, please consider having your speeches before your meal, this way, nothing will be missed.

What happens if you are poorly?

Really important question!
I have a bank of really talented and skilled humans who are able to step in for me if I am too poorly to attend your wedding (I’d have to be really sick or in hospital for this to happen!). My associate would be fully informed of everything and I would still do all the previews and editing.

Do you shoot abroad?

Yes! In 2026 I have availability for destination weddings. Just drop me a message or email with all the deets and I will create a bespoke package for you. I don’t charge crazy prices just because its overseas - just a package price including my shooting/editing hours, travel and accommodation etc.
